Jane
Both director and instructor at WBFC, Jane has lived in the gulf for over 20 years. She became a qualified Jazzercise instructor (one of the leading Dance Fitness Programs in the World) in 1986. With her franchise in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, She taught classes for 10 years. Later, moving to Bahrain, Jane took Jazzercise along with her and taught in 4 different centers on the island. In 2000, she attended a Nia intensive in Kloten, Switzerland where she obtained her White Belt. She became very excited about this new and innovative approach to fitness. She relinquished her Jazzercise Franchise and began teaching Nia in 2001. Also in 2001, Jane and her husband, Khalid, opened up World Beat Fitness. In 2003 Jane attained her Blue Belt, the next level in advanced Nia training and she attended her Brown Belt training (level 3) in 2005 with the founders of Nia, Debbie and Carlos Rosas. In July 2009 Jane had a privilegde to complete her Black Belt training with Debbie & Carlos again in Portland Oregon. She plans to add the "5 stages" to her training base next year. She feels that her Nia education will continue indefinitely, planning to re-vist her previous belts in the coming years, thereby learning more intimately the richness and depth of the Nia web of 'continuing education'. She feels very fortunate to have a wonderful team of dedicated teachers, and proud of the variety and range of programs offered at World Beat. She is grateful for the opportunity to bring her deep commitment to the magic of movement, music, and well-being to this community.
